Everyone needs a good set of tongs. Wait--that's not exactly true. When it comes to tongs, their quality's not important--simply having them's the thing. Whether you get some nice spring-loaded restaurant numbers or the dime-a-dozen scissors type you see at every grocery store, tongs are a life saver--or at least a fingertip saver. While my friends are scorching theirs roasting peppers or flipping tortillias on the gas burner, or transfering steaming chicken from pan to plate, mine are safe and sound a tongs' length away.
