Sesame Asparagus

Don't limit this sauce combo to only asparagus. Try it with green beans, snap beans or snow peas. It's a quick and easy way to spice up plain green veggies!

2 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. sugar
5 tsp. pure sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 lbs. asparagus
1 Tbsp. sesame seeds

Cut the ends off asparagus at a diagonal so that 2-inch tips are produced. Set aside. Dry toast sesame seeds in a small skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly, until aroma is released and seeds are slightly browned. Remove from heat and set aside. BEWARE: Sesame seeds can go from slightly toasted to burnt in seconds!

Stir soy sauce and sugar in a small bowl until sugar dissolved. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic and stir for 15 seconds. Add asparagus and stir-fry for about 4 minutes. Add soy mixture and toss until asparagus are coated, about 1 minutes. Remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
