Rosemary
Although originally from the Mediterranean, rosemary is now easily grown throughout Europe and the United States. Rosemary sprigs are grayish-green and resemble those of a pine tree. Rosemary has a pungent odor and flavor, sort of a citrus-pine combination. Very earthy.
Rosemary can be found in most grocery stores, but grows so easily, you can purchase a whole bush, and cut fresh sprigs as the need arises. It’s cost efficient and very satisfying!
Rosemary is used to season in a wide variety of dishes including soups, vegetables, meats, fish, eggs, stuffings and dressings.
