Fenugreek

A common staple in Asia and Southern Europe, fenugreek is most commonly used to flavor things like curry powders and teas. Both the ground and seed forms are used for this purpose. The taste is a peculiar, but pleasant combination of bitter and sweet. If you can find the leaves, by all means try them in a salad - most groceries in the US do not carry them.
